Gearing Up For The Holidays With A Santa Freebie!

Hey there! This is my FAVORITE time of year with my kiddos! We spend several weeks on various Christmas themes and this year I started it off with Santa Claus. All this week we have focused on Santa, Santa, Santa. We made our first (pretty hard) TLC Santa, we wrote about what we would do if Santa got stuck in our chimney AND we had some fun making our own Santa faces. Oh! Check out our holiday door! I love it! Kiddos did a great job on the snowflakes too!

Is this not the cutest Christmas Card ever??!?!!?

Ok, now I guess I can post my Santa Freebie. I threw this together one afternoon when I discovered I was one math center short. We've just started addition and my kiddos liked this one.

Thanksgiving Unit and New Doodle Darlin' Clipart

Yay! I've finally gotten in the mood to make another unit! If you're in need of a Thanksgiving Common Core Math and Literacy Unit then you're in luck...it's just been posted to my tpt store. Also, I made the whole unit with DeeDee's (From Doodle Darlin') SUPER cute "Giving Thanks" Clipart.
She has just opened her very own tpt store so go and follow this girl if you want automatic clipart downloads!
She's got a lot of cute things up her sleeve that will be posted soon. All of the things from her Etsy shop aren't on tpt yet, but she's uploading a few each day.

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip and HALLOWEEN!

So we didn't get to go on our Pumpkin Patch field trip on the original date because we got rained out (That was the saddest day EVER in Kindergarten), so we had to push our date back 2 weeks! After a loooooong 2 weeks we finally got to hope on the bus and head over to the pumpkin patch on a beautiful sunny...and very chilly day, to find our perfect pumpkin. Then just 2 short days later was HaLlOwEeN!! It was a super fun week...take a look for yourself.

Trick or Treat at BSLK!

Ok...funny story, before we went to trick or treat with our principal, Mrs. Penney, I heard a convo between a few of my kiddos and they were betting on whether or not Mrs. Penney would give tricks or treats...tricks was the majority, but they were so surprised when she gave treats instead! 5 year olds are so funny!

Had to put a picture of my baby on Halloween

I've got to get better at this...

Okay so I guess it's time for my monthly update haha. I don't know what the deal is this year with me not updating my blog very often. I think about it all the time, but then I find other work that needs to get done either at school or at home. Life is just a little overwhelming at the moment...at least that's what I am telling myself.

Alrighty, SO since we last spoke we have had tons of fun in kindergarten. After our week of teddy bears we covered several different themes...
Apples
Spiders
Pumpkins
Halloween and Scarecrows

I used a lot of the same centers from last year, and any new ideas came from my dear sweet coworker Jamie Mayas over at Mrs. Mayas' Kindergarten...don't know how I would make it through a year without her.

On top of learning about all the aforementioned themes, we also had famous author Mike Artell come and spend some time with our kiddos, some special football visitors came to read to us during "Red Ribbon Week," and we had a visit from Sparky the fire dog and he taught us some things about fire safety.

Oh How The Weeks Fly By

Wow! Is it already October?? This year is going by so fast for me! Since I haven't blogged in oooohhhh a few weeks, I have so much to tell. Since all the Brown Bear and color excitement we have had Grandparent's Day, and been through All About Me, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, M is for Monsters and T is for Teddy Bears. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking and explain what I can in the captions. Enjoy!
Craft for our sweet grandparents that came

Shaking, Smelling, and tasting REAL coconut and graphing whether or not we like it.

Grandparents day!

M is for Monsters! One of our favorite books is "Go Away Big Green Monster"

Shape Monster Glyphs

Read Across America Day!! Our class teamed up with Mrs. E and we anxiously awaited the arrival of Ladybug Girl! We were so excited when she came and read us "Ladybug Girl Dresses Up." She even gave all of us our very own ladybug!

T is for Teddy Bears and with that you must read "Teddy Bear Picnic," drink tea, eat teddy grahams, and gummy bears. I also bought some triangle Triscuits because that too starts with the letter T, but I grabbed the box off the top of the "four cheese" stack and it turned in to chile pepper! Yikes! Didn't want to give that to my kiddos.

T is also for TOUCHDOWN! on Football Friday!

Teddy bears and towels for sharing our bears.

It's been a great year so far, and I can't wait to share more will y'all. Pumpkin Patch field trip is this Friday! Can't wait!! My kiddos are already so excited.
